Weekly Meeting

The DuPage Business Development Group meets the first and third Thursdays of any month at the Lisle Hilton located at 3003 Corporate West Drive, Lisle, IL (right off of Warrenville Road) in the Lakeview Room.  The meeting has open networking and breakfast from 7:00 am to 7:30 am with the meeting to follow until  8:30 am.

St. John’s Steps Up to Help the District Print E-mail
For the past few months, the school district has pursued the purchase of 49 acres of land from St. John AME Church and 37 acres from Midwest Generation for the construction of Metea Valley High School. Midwest Generation announced on April 10th that it is no longer willing to sell the district its 37 acres.

The board of education approved new boundaries for the elementary, middle, and high schools. The elementary changes begin with the 2008-09 school year, while the middle and high school changes take effect in 2009-10.

Metea Valley Principal Announced Print E-mail

Indian Prairie School District 204 officials named Jim Schmid as principal to lead the opening of Metea Valley, the district's new high school, which is scheduled to open in 2009. Schmid currently serves as principal of Waubonsie Valley High School.

No one can guarantee what will happen to real estate values in the new Metea High School area, especially since boundaries are not even defined yet.  In 1996 and 1997, when Neuqua High School was in planning and then building and then opening stages – the affect on real estate was measurable.

The board of education set criteria and a timeline for the determining the new boundaries for Metea Valley High School as well as the other high schools in the Indian Prairie School District 204.  The administration will move forward with drafting a boundary proposal that will be distributed to the community on February 12th.

The board of education approved the name Metea Valley High School for the district's new school scheduled to open in 2009. Like Waubonsie and Neuqua, Metea was a Potawatomi Chief.
